As a fifth-generation Florida native, Mike Nabers brings a rare blend of local knowledge and diverse professional experience to his real estate career. Raised in Boca Grande, Mike's roots in the area run deep—his grandparents grew up and raised his parents along these same shores. His great-grandfather, Gus Cole, came to the area from Arkansas to homestead in 1908 at what became known as Cole Island, now Boca Grande North. As a pioneer, fisherman, and general store owner, he helped lay the foundations of the local community. Growing up surrounded by the culture, heritage, and natural beauty of Southwest Florida, Mike developed an intimate knowledge and love of the region, from the woods to the water.
This deep connection to the community, coupled with his passion for the area, provides Mike’s clients with unparalleled insights into local neighborhoods, market trends, and investment opportunities in properties both on and off island. Before transitioning into real estate, Mike enjoyed a successful career in the maritime industry, sailing as a Captain on large commercial vessels. His work took him from the waters of South America to Alaska, where he gained invaluable experience navigating some of the world’s most challenging waters. These years at sea taught him the value of precision, problem-solving, and leadership—skills he has seamlessly transferred to his real estate practice.
